How do I recover my joomla admin password 1.0 or 1.5?

If you know the email address that was used, the simplest thing is to do is to use the "lost password" Front-end function if you have made it available.

If not, you will need access to the MySQL database.

You have two choices, either add a new super administrator or change the password stored in the data base. To do this you need to go to phpMyAdmin (or use a similar tool) and manually edit the database. Before doing this back up our complete database.

Run this to create a new user known as admin2.

INSERT INTO `jos_users` VALUES
(62, 'Administrator2', 'admin2', 'your-email@email.com', '21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3',
'Super Administrator', 0, 1, 25, '2005-09-28 00:00:00', '2005-09-28 00:00:00', '', '');
INSERT INTO `jos_core_acl_aro` VALUES (10,'users','62',0,'Administrator2',0);
INSERT INTO `jos_core_acl_groups_aro_map` VALUES (25,'',10);

The password will be admin. Immediately log in and change this password.

Or

You can change the password in the table for your admin user (assuming you never changed the user name; if you have just change the instructions below to .

The password is stored in the MySQL database jos_users table password field. (change this for your table prefix if different)

Open the table, find your admin username, and then select that row for editing.

The password must be hashed, you cannot simply enter text into this field.

Set the password to a known value
- password = "this is the MD5 hashed password"
------------------------------------------------------
- admin = 21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3
- secret = 5ebe2294ecd0e0f08eab7690d2a6ee69
- OU812 = 7441de5382cf4fecbaa9a8c538e76783

Enhanced Full Rate will give you much better sound quality when you enable it. The new Enhanced Full Rate CODEC adopted by GSM uses the ASELP (AlgebraicCode Excitation Linear Prediction) compression technology. This technology allows for much great voice quality in the same number of bits as the older Full Rate CODEC. The older technology was called LPC-RPE (Linear Prediction Coding with Regular Pulse Excitation). Both operate at 13 kilobits.(but you take up more space on the network, so they can charge you more) - Talk-time is reduced with about 5%

Secret Codes for Nokia 3210

Unlock your Nokia
To unlock your Nokia phone you will need some of the following:
1. Data Cable
2. Unlock Software
3. Extra Help + help Guides

*#06# for checking the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity)
*#0000# shows the SW version.
*#3370# - Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) activation. It will automatically restart.
*#3370* - Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) deactivation. It will automatically restart.
*#4720# - Half Rate Codec activation. It will automatically restart
*#4720* - Half Rate Codec deactivation. It will automatically restart
*#746025625# - Sim clock allowed status.

Half Rate will give you bad soundquality, which gives the serviceprovider the opportunity to have more calls on the network, and you might get a lower charge from them. - Will give you 30% longer talk-time.

Sim Clock Stop : *#746025625# apparently only works for 3 minuts.

*#92702689# - takes you to a secret menu with 6 choices
1) shows the serial nr.
2) shows when the cel phone was made mmyy
3) shows when the the cel. phone was purchased mmyy

Windows XP Command Line Utilities.

Here's a list of some new tools mixed up with the old favorites that will make you love the command prompt as much as I do. A lot of these commands are intended for the XP Professional machine administrating a network, but they can serve a purpose for the home user as well.

- bootcfg
View your boot loader settings, such as your default OS and selection timeout, as well as your boot entries and load options.

- defrag
You probably already guessed that this defrags your hard drive. Type only "defrag" into your command prompt to get a list of possible arguments, such as the drive letter and the type of output.

- diskpart
Manages your disk partitions. After you type "diskpart" into your command prompt, your prompt will become "DISKPART." Type a question mark to get a list of possible arguments. Type exit to leave diskpart.

- driverquery
Will get you a nice list of your drivers and their properties.

- fsutil
This is a handy command. You can do everything from managing your hardlinks to querying the free space in a volume. Type "fsutil" into your command prompt, and you'll see a list of options. I choose "fsinfo" from the list, so I type "fsutil fsinfo" into the prompt. Now I get even more options, but I choose drives by typing "fsutil fsinfo drives." It's fun, it's easy, and you'll get the hang of it. Explore this utility. There are a lot of cool features and hidden twists.

- getmac
This gets the MAC (Media Access Control) address.

- gpresult
Get the RSoP, user settings, and computer group policy settings.

- netsh
A network configuration tool. Type "netsh" to enter the tool, or "netsh /?" to learn more about it. To exit this tool, type "exit" at the "netsh>" prompt.

- openfiles
Allows an administrator to display or disconnect open files in XP professional. Type "openfiles /?" for a list of possible parameters.

- recover
This command attempts to recover readable information from a damaged disk. Type "recover" to get the syntax.

- reg
The console registry tool. Get syntax help when you type "reg" into the prompt. You can export the registry, copy, restore, compare, and more.

- schtasks
The administrator can schedule, run, change, or delete tasks on a local or remote machine. Type "schtasks /?" without the quotes for a list of options.

- sfc
The system file checker scans protected system files and replaces the ones you (or your applications) hacked beyond repair with the real, official Microsoft versions. Type "sfc" into the command prompt to get a list of options.

- shutdown
You can shut down or restart your own computer, or an administrator can shut down or restart a remote computer. Type "shutdown" into your command prompt to see a list of possible arguments.

- systeminfo
Basic system configuration information, such as the system type, the processor type, your time zone, your virtual memory settings, and much more.

- tasklist
Want to know what's going on behind the scenes? Type "tasklist" into the command prompt, and get a list of current processes.

- taskkill
Now that you know what's going on behind the scenes, maybe you want to shut a few of these extraneous tasks down. That's where taskkill comes in. Type "taskkill /?" for a quick lesson in the syntax of the command, then shut down all those random processes.

How to Test if your Anti-Virus has been Compromised

Do you think you might have a virus on your machine? Not sure if your AV is doing its job? Well, here’s a simple test.

First, create a new text file and paste the following code into it:

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

Then save the text as a .COM file (any name will do, like eicar.com). Either scan the file manually or the auto protect feature of most AV programs should have already caught it. (My SAV caught it immediately upon saving it as a .txt file.)

This test string is a way to test to see if an anti virus program is not working. It was created by the anti-virus industry as a standardized test and should not be taken to be an effective measurement of your anti viruses ability.

The whole point of the EICAR test is to see if an anti-virus program has been infected. If the anti-virus program doesn't detect the string, then there is a chance a virus has done something nasty to it. This was only meant as an internal test for developers though, not for end users. Also, this doesn’t mean that your system is free of viruses. Just that your AV is working to the best of it capabilities.

The only reliable test for how well your anti-virus program is doing, is how well it's doing funnily enough. Is your computer on fire? Have missiles just launched? Are robots trying to tear down your office door? If so you may have a virus, otherwise your AV is doing it's job.

Find warez/mp3's by searching in Google!

"parent directory " /appz/ -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory " Gamez -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory " DVDRip -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
"parent directory " Xvid -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5
-md5sums
"parent directory " MP3 -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

You only need change the word after the parent directory (in bold font)...
change it to whatever you want

Another method used for looking for mp3s:

?intitle:index.of? mp3

You only need add the name of the song/artist/singer.
Example: ?intitle:index.of? mp3 slipknot

Speeding Up Share Viewing

This is a great tweak. Before I found it, I was always smashing my head against the table waiting to view shares on other computers. Basically, when you connect to another computer with Windows XP, it checks for any Scheduled tasks on that computer - a fairly useless task, but one that can add up to 30 seconds of waiting on the other end - not good! Fortunately, it's fairly easy to disable this process. First, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace in the Registry. Below that, there should be a key called {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}. Just delete this, and after a restart, Windows will no longer check for scheduled tasks - mucho performance improvement!

Handy Tool To Play with Windows Integrity Levels

Mark Minasi wrote to me recently to point out that his new tool, chml, is capable of setting NoReadUp and NoExecuteUp policy on file objects, in addition to the standard NoWriteUp policy, which is used by default on Vista.

As I wrote before the default IL policy used on Vista assumes only the NoWriteUp policy. That means that all objects which do not have assigned any IL explicitly (and consequently are treated as if they were marked with Medium IL) can be read by low integrity processes (only writes are prevented). Also, the standard Windows icacls command, which allows to set IL for file objects, assumes always the NoWriteUp policy only (unless I’m missing some secret switch).

However, it’s possible, for each object, to define not only the integrity level but also the policy which will be used to access it. All this information is stored in the same SACE which also defines the IL.

There doesn’t seem to be too much documentation from Microsoft about how to set those permissions, except this paper about Protected Mode IE and the sddl.h file itself.

Anyway, it’s good to see a tool like chml as it allows to do some cool things in a very simple way. E.g. consider that you have some secret documents in the folder c:\secretes and that you don’t feel like sharing those files with anybody who can exploit your Protected Mode IE. As I pointed out in my previous article, by default all your personal files are accessible to your Protected Mode IE low integrity process, so in the event of successful exploitation the attacker is free to steal them all. However now, using Mark Minasi’s tool, you can just do this:
chml.exe c:\secrets -i:m -nr -nx
This should prevent all the low IL processes, like e.g. Protected Mode IE, from reading the contents of your secret directory.

BTW, you can use chml to also examine the SACE which was created:
chml.exe c:\secrets -showsddl
and you should get something like that as a result:
SDDL string for c:\secrets's integrity label=S:(ML;OICI;NRNX;;;ME)
Where S means that it’s an SACE (in contrast to e.g. DACE), ML says that this ACE defines mandatory label, OICI means “Object Inherit” and “Container Inherit”, NRNX defines that to access this object the NoReadUp and NoExecuteUp policies should be used (which also implies the NoWriteUp BTW) and finally the ME stands for Medium Integrity Level.

All credits go to Mark Minasi and the Windows IL team :)

Protecting the Customer's Network

To protect the customer's network, we should check all traffic which goes through router and block unwanted. For icmp, tcp, udp traffic we will create chains, where will be droped all unwanted packets:

/ip firewall filter
add chain=forward protocol=tcp connection-state=invalid \
action=drop comment="drop invalid connections"
add chain=forward connection-state=established action=accept \
comment="allow already established connections"
add chain=forward connection-state=related action=accept \
comment="allow related connections"

Block IP addreses called "bogons":

add chain=forward src-address=0.0.0.0/8 action=drop
add chain=forward dst-address=0.0.0.0/8 action=drop
add chain=forward src-address=127.0.0.0/8 action=drop
add chain=forward dst-address=127.0.0.0/8 action=drop
add chain=forward src-address=224.0.0.0/3 action=drop
add chain=forward dst-address=224.0.0.0/3 action=drop

Make jumps to new chains:

add chain=forward protocol=tcp action=jump jump-target=tcp
add chain=forward protocol=udp action=jump jump-target=udp
add chain=forward protocol=icmp action=jump jump-target=icmp

Create tcp chain and deny some tcp ports in it:

add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=69 action=drop \
comment="deny TFTP"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=111 action=drop \
comment="deny RPC portmapper"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=135 action=drop \
comment="deny RPC portmapper"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=137-139 action=drop \
comment="deny NBT"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=445 action=drop \
comment="deny cifs"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=2049 action=drop comment="deny NFS"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=12345-12346 action=drop comment="deny NetBus"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=20034 action=drop comment="deny NetBus"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=3133 action=drop comment="deny BackOriffice"
add chain=tcp protocol=tcp dst-port=67-68 action=drop comment="deny DHCP"

Deny udp ports in udp chain:

add chain=udp protocol=udp dst-port=69 action=drop comment="deny TFTP"
add chain=udp protocol=udp dst-port=111 action=drop comment="deny PRC portmapper"
add chain=udp protocol=udp dst-port=135 action=drop comment="deny PRC portmapper"
add chain=udp protocol=udp dst-port=137-139 action=drop comment="deny NBT"
add chain=udp protocol=udp dst-port=2049 action=drop comment="deny NFS"
add chain=udp protocol=udp dst-port=3133 action=drop comment="deny BackOriffice"

Allow only needed icmp codes in icmp chain:

add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=0:0 action=accept \
comment="drop invalid connections"
add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=3:0 action=accept \
comment="allow established connections"
add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=3:1 action=accept \
comment="allow already established connections"
add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=4:0 action=accept \
comment="allow source quench"
add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=8:0 action=accept \
comment="allow echo request"
add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=11:0 action=accept \
comment="allow time exceed"
add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=12:0 action=accept \
comment="allow parameter bad"
add chain=icmp action=drop comment="deny all other types"

Use your illusions :)

Protect your RouterOS router

To protect your router, you should not only change admin's password but also set up packet filtering. All packets with destination to the router are processed against the ip firewall input chain. Note, that the input chain does not affect packets which are being transferred through the router.

/ ip firewall filter
add chain=input connection-state=invalid action=drop \
comment="Drop Invalid connections"
add chain=input connection-state=established action=accept \
comment="Allow Established connections"
add chain=input protocol=udp action=accept \
comment="Allow UDP"
add chain=input protocol=icmp action=accept \
comment="Allow ICMP"
add chain=input src-address=192.168.0.0/24 action=accept \
comment="Allow access to router from known network"
add chain=input action=drop comment="Drop anything else"

How to Block Websites

This example will explain you “How to Block Web Sites” & “How to Stop Downloading”. I have use Web-Proxy test Package.

First, Configure Proxy.

/ip proxy
enabled: yes
src-address: 0.0.0.0
port: 8080
parent-proxy: 0.0.0.0:0
cache-drive: system
cache-administrator: "ASHISH PATEL"
max-disk-cache-size: none
max-ram-cache-size: none
cache-only-on-disk: no
maximal-client-connections: 1000
maximal-server-connections: 1000
max-object-size: 512KiB
max-fresh-time: 3d

Now, Make it Transparent

/ip firewall nat
chain=dstnat protocol=tcp dst-port=80 action=redirect to-ports=8080

Make sure that your proxy is NOT a Open Proxy

/ip firewall filter
chain=input in-interface= Your WAN Port src-address=0.0.0.0/0 protocol=tcp dst-port=8080 action=drop

Now for Blocking Websites

/ip proxy access
dst-host=www.vansol27.com action=deny

It will block website http://www.vansol27.com, We can always block the same for different networks by giving src-address. It will block for particular source address.

We can also stop downloading files like.mp3, .exe, .dat, .avi,…etc.

/ip proxy access
path=*.exe action=deny
path=*.mp3 action=deny
path=*.zip action=deny
path=*.rar action=deny.

Try with this also

/ip proxy access
dst-host=:mail action=deny

This will block all the websites contain word “mail” in url.
Example: It will block www.hotmail.com, mail.yahoo.com, www.rediffmail.com

PCQ Examples

Per Connection Queue (PCQ) is a queuing discipline that can be used to dynamically equalize or shape traffic for multiple users, using little administration. It is possible to divide PCQ scenarios into three major groups: equal bandwidth for a number of users, certain bandwidth equal distribution between users, unknown bandwidth equal distribution between users.
[edit] Equal Bandwidth for a Number of Users

Use PCQ type queue when you need to equalize the bandwidth [and set max limit] for a number of users. We will set the 64kbps download and 32kbps upload limits.

There are two ways how to make this: using mangle and queue trees, or, using simple queues.

1. Mark all packets with packet-mark all:

/ip firewall mangle add chain=prerouting action=mark-packet new-packet-mark=all passthrough=no

2. Setup two PCQ queue types - one for download and one for upload. dst-address is classifier for user's download traffic, src-address for upload traffic:

/queue type add name="PCQ_download" kind=pcq pcq-rate=64000 pcq-classifier=dst-address
/queue type add name="PCQ_upload" kind=pcq pcq-rate=32000 pcq-classifier=src-address

3. Finally, two queue rules are required, one for download and one for upload:

/queue tree add parent=global-in queue=PCQ_download packet-mark=all
/queue tree add parent=global-out queue=PCQ_upload packet-mark=all

If you don't like using mangle and queue trees, you can skip step 1, do step 2, and step 3 would be to create one simple queue as shown here:

/queue simple add queue=PCQ_upload/PCQ_download target-addresses=192.168.0.0/24
